Hey! Below are some questions and answers people may have for me.
Drylx & Music
-
A: I officially began in June 2023 when I installed LMMS on a random evening, continued experimentation led to where I am today, I never gave up.. even if my music were off-key or off-beat.
-
A: My logo underwent 3 different designs these past few years, each symbolizing a stage in music, the Crux Oculi (in Latin: “Cross Eye”) is the latest and permanent design, made by my best friend on top of that!
As for symbolism per se, the crossed eye doesn’t bear a lot of meaning, I just liked the first variation, then stuck with Cross Eyes since then.
-
A: I do not limit myself to a single genre, you will hear synthwave, hard/jumpstyle, beats, EDM, chiptune and so many more out of me. I take unlikely genres and fuse them.
For example, my single “Sparkles” contains 80’s funk, breakcore, and Mongolian throat singing. Unusual, right? Thats just my brand.
-
A: Please refer to the option on the contact form.
-
A: You mean music inspired by mine, you shouldn’t try to imitate an artist’s style in order to call yourself “good” - every artist finds their own style along the way, just find yours :)
After all, no one is perfect, and that’s totally fine.
-
A: The name “Drylx” was conceived in 2021 when I was thinking of a new Roblox username, I just ran with it since.
It has no particular meaning, I just liked short and nonsensical words at the time.
-
A: Literally anywhere on the internet, although Spotify is my primary domain. Type “Drylx” onto your search engine, and I’ll be there.
-
A: I consider Relic to be my personal anthem, that’s why its been remixed so much over time. A timeless classic in my eyes (or ears for that matter)
-
A: When I first began releasing music onto Spotify in 2023, DistroKid asked me to come up with a brand name- because I primarily did chiptune music at the time, I chose “Drylx Chip.” - even though I rarely do chiptune and mostly EDM/experimental music now, I stay with “Chip.” as a way to honor my first steps as a music artist.
